Senior Policy Advisor, U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO)

Edgar Rivas serves as the Senior Policy Advisor to U.S. Senator John Hickenlooper (D-CO). In this role, he is the principal advisor on policy issues under the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee’s jurisdiction, including technology, telecommunications, privacy, space, cybersecurity, trade, and transportation issues. He also leads the Senator’s work as Chairman of the Senate Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security.

 

Prior to the Senate, he served as the Senior Policy Advisor to Congressman Tom O’Halleran (D-AZ) and led his legislative work ranging from energy to technology and privacy issues as a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee. Before Capitol Hill, he spent over 5 years working in government relations capacities.

 

Edgar received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from George Mason University with a focus on public policy and international relations.
