General Counsel, Ripple
In addition to working as General Counsel at Ripple, Stuart Alderoty is executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. He is the chief legal officer, responsible for overseeing all legal, corporate governance and insurance risk management matters for CIT and its operating groups.
Alderoty joined CIT from HSBC North America Holdings, Inc., where he served as general counsel for six years. Prior to joining HSBC, Alderoty was managing counsel at American Express, and before that he was a partner with the law firm of LeBouef, Lamb, Green and MacRae, specializing in litigation.
Alderoty serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, a not-for-profit association that advocates for the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. He also serves on the Board and Executive Committee of the Count Basie Center for the Arts, a not-for-profit community arts center in Red Bank, New Jersey. Alderoty is also the Advisory Board Chair of the Rutgers University Law School Center for Corporate Law and Governance.
